Kia ora and welcome to the January newsletter from Palmerston North City Library.

It's a new calendar year, and all of us at the Library hope you have a good one. We aim to bring you a whole lot of great books, activities and talks to feed your mind and warm your soul.
Recommendations from 2022
Librarians love lists! To prove it, several staff members submitted their favourite reads from 2022. They didn't have to be books that were published in 2022, just ones that we read during the year.

Since it'll be 2023 by the time you read this, just know that many of us will already be noting down cool stuff we read over the holiday break, getting started on our 2023 lists!

Was there anything you read in 2022 that really stood out? Let us know and we'll publish your recommendation in the next newsletter!

New "Crillers" area in Fiction!

Versions Tuatoru
In December the Library released its third collection of work by local writers - Versions Tuatoru.
Each year we invite you to submit a short story, a poem, or a play, based on a writing prompt we provide.

Versions Tuatoru is available from the Library as a physical book, or as an ebook on BorrowBox.

This is purely for fun - maybe you've never written but want to give it a try, or maybe you already write but would like a fun side-project. Keep your eye out for out next prompt by checking the Writers and Readers programme page on our website.
